Latinos in Technology Initiative
Empowering the Next Generation
Although Latinos represent 26% of Silicon Valley’s total population, and yet, less than 3% of the high-tech workforce is Latino. With 39% of the K-12 student population identified as Latino, we know their talents and perspectives have the potential to transform STEM fields.
We seek to do more than level the playing field. We aim to change it.
Supporting Latinos in STEM
Since 2016, Latinos in Technology has been a transformative initiative to address and bridge the significant gap between the Latino community’s representation in STEM careers.
The support we offer to Latino college students who are pursuing STEM-related majors is threefold:
- Financial. Recognizing many students’ financial challenges, we financially support third-and fourth-year undergraduate Latino students majoring in STEM fields at four-year universities with scholarships renewable for up to three years.
- Professional Development. Scholars have the opportunity to engage in a variety of professional skill-building workshops and programs like Conexiones. Equipping Latino students with the necessary tools, skills, and networks to thrive as professionals.
- Internships. We connect scholars with real-world experience through summer internships with corporate partners and investors.
